Chocobo Knights
“We curry no favor, we bear no flags.
If you find yourself in danger, do not tarry.
Find a Little Birdy to sing your song.
For we are the Watchers of the Road,
And the road is forever long.”
– Litany of the Chocobo Knight
The Chocobo Knights are an order of adventurers dedicated to the protection of the innocent. They are loyal to no nation, and they do not share their identities with anyone. They all carry a variety of colored chocobo masks, and frequently switch masks as they change their outfits, making their individual movements nearly impossible to track, thus aiding in keeping their identities secret. Even members of their order do not know who one another are underneath the majestic helms.
Chocobo porters the star over serve as both spies and an information network throughout Eorzea. They are often called “Little Birdies” by the knights themselves, and as the porters wear the same masks as the knights themselves this helps to further maintain the mystery of their identities.
To become a member of the Chocobo Knights, you must be sponsored by three individual knights. The “hatchling” is then assigned three missions with three different CKs who give the hatchling either a yellow tailfeather, or a white tail feather. Three yellow tailfeathers means they become a Chocobo Knights in full. Three means they’re given one more shot with a fourth knight who may pass or wash them out. One yellow tailfeather means the hatchling must wait a year before attempting to join the ranks again. And three white tailfeathers means they are forever barred from becoming a Chocobo Knight.
Daughters of the Azure Dragon
An order of all female Dragoons. The group was founded by female knights from Ishgard, Bozja, and Mor Dhona and one of the wyrm children of Midgarsormr, Draxus. Draxus, sensing the Seventh Umbral Calamity was nigh upon them all, sought out warriors who could defend the realm from the war machina of the Garlean Empire. The order would have one leader, and seven knights under the leader’s charge. They executed missions across the Garlean Empire. Many of the Daughters of the Azure Dragon fought in the final battle of the Seventh Umbral Calamity, when Dalamud was called down from the heavens, and Bahamut laid waste to the grand companies, and Louisoix. It is unclear how many survived, but Lillyandra, Rosetta’s mother, was the last known leader of the Dragoons, and wished for her daughter to take her place.
The Sons and Daughters of the USS Adriatic
An generational order of airship pirates, always helmed by the oldest descendant of the Nemo. The last person to helm the USS Adriatic was Captain James Nemo VIII. Few know much of anything about the order, and even fewer knew anything about it or their enigmatic Captain before he and his ship were shot down over The Black Shroud. The pirates would come and go quick as night, their motives known only to the men and women who crewed the ship. One day stealing from the Garlean Empire, the next day raiding Bozjan coffers or the piers of Werlyt.
Since the day the ship was shot down, no one has recovered so much as a fragment of the USS Adriatic. Griggs, the ship’s first mate, walked away from the crash and would eventually find Captain Nemo’s daughter, Rosetta. He has served as a mentor and uncle to the young woman ever since.
