Gotta Start Somewhere

There’s a level of arrogance, I think, that you have to have to write down your thoughts for other people to read. Who am I to presume to put these things I think and do out there for strangers around the star to browse, like anything I say or do is interesting? I asked Griggs as much when he told me I should start keeping journals. You know what he said? “Only a truly arrogant tart would think anyone is going to read what you write down before you’ve gone and written it down.”

So now, I’m arrogant if I keep a journal, and I’m an arrogant tart if I don’t?

I don’t give a adamantoise turd if he was one of the finest first officers to ever serve on my father’s ship, he’s still an ass.

But I suppose you get to be an ass when you’re right most of the time, so here it is. My first entry. Gotta start somewhere, I guess.
